Primers by Clinique, Revlon and Nyx Cosmetics – Quick Review

Primers by Clinique, Revlon and Nyx Cosmetics - Quick Review

Hello peeps,

Today i am going to review something that i accidentally discovered and they were not in rage until few years back i.e Primers. Only time i heard that word was when my brother was getting painting job done at home and he was asking the painters to prime the wall first. Then when youtube happened to me i was spellbound by the numbproducts used by Youtube gurus on their face for makeup. One of that many thing was eye primer by urban decay. OMG every other youtube guru used it to make their eye makeup last longer and here i kept wondering where will get these damn thing.

So one fine day when i was strolling in the mall i came across Loreal counter and i thought of checking some stuff out, Sales person introduced me to their new launch product “L’Oreal Paris Base Magique Primer”. She made me try it on my face and i became a fan of that product that instance. Gradually every other brand started launching it. Needless to say, its a staple makeup product for me ever since. So now i gave you a back story of how i crossed my paths with primer.

Now let me tell why or when should person use it. I have a Oily T Zone. Oily to an extent of not being able to apply highlights ever Oily. Yes highlights on my face comes naturally to me through oil glands in my face 🙁 So if your skin falls into Combination and Oily category, primers are for you. Also if you want your makeup to last and look fresh for longer than few hours, Primers can do wonders.

What does Primer do?

  • Smoothens and even out skin’s texture
  • Effeciently hides fines lines and open pores
  • Conceals pigments
  • Help absorb sebum, thereby mattifying the skin to reduce the shine

I am currently using Primers by 3 different brands i.e. Clinique, Revlon and Nyx Cosmetics. So lets review them.

Revlon PhotoReady Perfecting Primer

Price – INR 1495

Revlon PhotoReady Perfecting Primer

This is my 4th or 5th bottle and my most favorite primer ever. No primer could ever match upto this one for me. I use the pink variant which is suppose to colour correct and hide the pigments. When i use this i literally dont use foundation and am still good to go. I used both variants i.e Perfecting primer and Color correcting and i used to like later much better. But i guess they have stopped making it any more and sell only Perfecting primer 001.

NYX Professional Makeup Pore Filler

Price – INR 1425

NYX Professional Makeup Pore Filler

This is very recent addition to my collection and i find this very similar to Benefits Porefessional Primer only cheaper. Although compare to Revlon quantity is quite less. You can in picture the tube is quite small.

Clinique Superprimer Face Primers – Color correcting

This is my least favorite and least used primer. Compare to Revlon, coverage and its effects are only 30% i would say. So may be this would be best suited for people with dry skin.
